The Brief
The existing EVC Plus app was created to purely connect a user to an electric car charge point. In using the app, it was functional, it used basic Flutter components and was lacking key features and experiences compared to it’s competitors. The goal was to create a more mature app, capable of fulfilling other EV Driver needs, becoming the go to app for helping users charge. An EV drivers companion.
The Solution
After conducting competitor analysis, the interface was redesigned to align against the EVC Design System, and new features were added in to make EVC Plus more competitive against the app market. Real-time updates keep users informed about station availability, a map helps users discover EVC locations, alternative payment methods enhance convenience and a new itemised billing screen removes pre-existing confusion. All new designs were put in front of users via Maze, with positive results seen before a public release.
