The Brief
The existing Charge Portal was created as an internal business tool for understanding statistical information regarding it’s chargers. It’s interface used bare material components that featured little styling. The usability of the portal too was then also only usable to those “in-the-know” after having demo’s from the CTO. The challenge was to take this internal facing tool and make it externally usable for clients.
The Solution
As clients were already users of the EVC app I knew we had to make things consistent for them and redesign the platform so they could easily identify components and assume their interactions. Establishing an EVC design system and applying it to the Charge Portal resulted in them having a more hands on experience with their chargers, gaining the ability to understand the very smallest of details associated with charger uptime, fault logs and importantly the money earnt from their chargers .
