DK Learning

The Brief

As more teachers and pupils became readers of Dorling Kindersley (DK) books, the business needed to fully deliver their products against a growing market and provide more educational resources.
There needed to be a digital product to act as a promotional platform for books but also a place where lesson plans, downloadable content, useful web links and other resources were readily available to potential users.

The Solution

A new website was created with a great amount of focus placed on ‘resource finder’ functionality. The user could filter a searchable database to find resources associated not only by Subject and Topic, but also by Grade/Year and as part of the wider learning structures native to the US and the UK. Through user testing and iterative design the resource finder was proven to help the end user find what they needed. The site was perceived to be a great improvement against competitors with many users planning on returning to find what they need to help them teach.
