ICDC Group

The ICDC Group in Woking is a support group for patients who have implantable cardioverter defibrillators, and their families. They’re based at St Peter’s Hospital, Chertsey, and try to encourage patients from other hospitals in Surrey to join. When ICDC approached me, the identity and their logo had become unpopular, and the logo referred to the electrical nature of the device, creating a slightly scary image for the group. A softer, friendlier look was needed.

A hand-written identity carried this theme but with a change in colour pallet to a red gradient, and creating a subtle heart shape from the ‘C’ and ‘D’ letters, the group becomes viewable as one focusing on issues of the heart rather than electrical devices. After being approved by the group trustees, with it~s launch it generated an increase in membership inquiries unlike anything before and quickly became popular with current members.
